Havelock Island or Swaraj Dweep also known as India’s most beautiful secret. Havelock Island is no less than a paradise because of its pristine beaches and beautiful natural settings. It is a part of India’s Andaman Islands. It is famous for its mesmerizing beaches and coral reefs. Swaraj Dweeps is one of the largest islands that in turn have a series of islands to the east of the great Andaman in the Andaman Islands. It has white sandy beaches, crystal blue water and the most exotic coral reefs. It is like a dream come true.

  • It offers wide variety of activities like Diving, scuba-diving, Water sports, Snorkeling, Kayaking, Jungle Trekking and game fishing.
  • It is one of the most secluded islands and most visited places in the Andaman and around 1.5-2 hours away from Port Blair (by boat).
  • Havelock Islands has all kinds of stay varying on one’s budget. One can choose from small beach huts costing around Rs.1000 per night to luxury cottages and villas starting from Rs.9000-Rs.25000 per night.
  • Best time to visit Swaraj Dweeps is between November and May although peak season lies between December- March. Light rains are expected around the year because it is a tropical island. Also February and March are considered to be the best time for water sports due to better visibility and low tides.

HOW TO REACH HAVELOCK ISLANDS

The island can be reached both by air and water. Daily fights go to Port Blair which departs from major cities like Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata. Also round trip can prove to be cheaper if booked in advance. After reaching Port Blair one can take private or government ferries to reach this paradise.  However, best recommended are the private because of its hassle-free booking and you don’t have to wait in long queues.   • ELEPHANT BEACH- With its sugary white sand, ancient trees, and reef beaming with exotic corals near the shore, this is one of the must visit places in the Andaman Islands. Popular for being a snorkeling hotspot and the variety of water activities that it has to offer, the secluded Elephant Beach is yet another breathtaking beach in the Havelock Island.
  • GOVINDNAGAR BEACH - Beach no. 1 starts at the jetty with a line of hotels and resorts on its shores. From village #1 to Village #2, one can find mangroves and rocky patches making it not ideal to swim, snorkelling is advised only for the experienced.
  • VIJAYNAGAR BEACH- Vijaynagar beach is lined with coconut trees and unlike the shores of beach #1, #2 & #3, #5 beach has some patches of just white sand making them ideal to spend your day swimming or just sunbathing.
