Hubli or Hubballi being one of the fastest growing city is second largest city in Karnataka. Hubli forms the collective area with the city known as Dharwad making it as the largest urban area next to Bangaluru. It being so commercially strong, is called ‘Chota Mumbai’.

Later in 17th century, Hubli was under the rule of Mughals and then the Savanar Nawabs took over city and build a new extension known as Majidpura. Then under the colonial rule, a new railway station was set up in Hubli and consequently, Hubli became the prime the commercial and industrial space.

Hubli is a major centre in southern India and the commercial centre of Karnataka after Bangalore.
