Jamshedpur also known as ‘the steel city’ is the largest city in Jharkhand. Jamshedpur is the first ever city to be planned aesthetically with mind-blowing infrastructure and landscapes. It is considered to be the world’s eighth largest steel manufacturing city along with India’s first ever planned city.

Jamshedpur was named after the pioneer Jamshetji Tata in 1919, founder of Tata Industries also the ‘Father of Indian Industry’. PLACES OF INTEREST 

  • Dimna Lake- it is situated 13km from Jamshedpur and is an ideal picnic spot out in the open. It has an amazing drive coming up and is surrounded by lush greenery with a variety of flora. It was built by Tata Steel and the whole city’s water supply comes from this lake.

  • Jubilee Park- it is one of the biggest park in the country which is as big as 237.75 acres. This park was inaugurated in 1956 which was also built by Tata Steel. It has an amusement park, horticulture garden and skating ring.

  • Tata Steel Zoological Park- it is located inside the Jubilee Park which is an unkempt zoo which provides housing to wildlife in natural space and habitat. This park provides people to escape their monotonous lifestyle and let them observe and captivate the natural essence.

  • Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary- it is a famous forest tourism, but is familiar to the residents because of the resident elephants. The place was inaugurated by Sanjay Gandhi and established in the year 1975. ‘Dalma haathi’ or ‘elephants of Dalma’ is a quite known term in Jamshedpur-Puruliya region.  The atmosphere of the forest and a chance to have a glance at the wild animals is something that makes the sanctuary very special and interesting for people who love to explore the jungles.

  • Hudco lake- Hudco Lake is a beautiful lake located in Jamshedpur. It was built artificially in the alluring surroundings of TELCO colony. The lake is located near park which also has an artificial waterfall that flows from the lake. You can enjoy the bird’s-eye view of the city and is the best place for a picnic and enjoying with family.
